Saving My Dog Saving My Dog
Dorje Shugden helped my dog and I am truly thankful for that as she is not just a pet, she is my family. Her... Saving My Dog

I have three lovely dogs living with my family and I, and one of my dogs is a 13-year-old female. She was always healthy and energetic, but one day I noticed there was a lump on her neck and it started to bleed. After discovering the lump, I took her to the vet who advised me that she needed to undergo an operation to remove the lump.

I was so worried, especially when the vet told me of the risks of putting an old dog under anaesthetic. On top of that, there was also the possibility that the lump was cancerous. The vet was very experienced and he has seen so many cases throughout his career, so it must be rare for him to misjudge a disease by looking at the symptoms.

After much discussion with the vet, it was concluded that my dog had to take her chances by going for the operation. If she did not, the bleeding lump would not heal and we ran the risk of potential infections which may claim her life prematurely. I did not have much choice, so I scheduled her operation with the hope that she may have a better fighting chance for a longer life.

A day before her operation, I sponsored a Dorje Shugden puja in dedication to my dog. I was truly worried she would not make it. Shortly after, I got news that the operation went smoothly, and the tests done on the lump revealed that it was not malignant (cancerous). Finally, I could let out a sigh of relief! I know that Dorje Shugden helped my dog and I am truly thankful for that as she is not just a pet, she is my family.

Thank you Cheng See and I am very glad to read about the dog went through the surgery well.

I understand the worried and helplessness when we see others that we love in pain. Dorje Shugden practice is indeed something that gives me a lot of strength when I did animal rescue works, especially dealing with cases that were critical.

I remember one of the case, Honey who caught in wild boar trap and lost her paw. I almost wanted to break down and wanted to sit there and cry because it’s too painful for her and me. But with the faith of Dorje Shugden in mind, I believe some miracles will happen and that strengthen me to go through the process of saving her. I rushed her to a few vets but none of them can help, made many calls, none of the suggestions work because of the timing. I told myself this is Honey and my bad karma manifested, I must be strong to go through it and Dorje Shugden will definitely show me a way. Finally we went to a vet that provided all necessary needs. The doctor said her condition to survive is quite low because the wound has been days and she lost too much blood. With much love and care, the medical team did a great job to survive her.

Also there are many rescue that the animals are dying. I felt really sad because there’s nothing I can do at that very moment. What I always do is I pray to Dorje Shugden, and tell the protector please help this poor thing, give him/her the best arrangement. Some animals survive which are really miracles, some animals breathe their last breathe right after my prayers.

I believe Dorje Shugden is just right there with me going through the tough time.

Beautiful story and sharing. I have heard so many times through the Buddha’s blessings, our furry friends heal quickly and live longer in this life. Although they have no capability of practicing, they have met a human friend that bless them with Buddha images and chant mantras for them, which is great way to help our pets to gain a better rebirth for their future life.

In the eyes of an enlightened being, all sentient beings in the six realms are equal in the sense that everyone has the Buddha Nature in them. And every single sentient being is worth saving. Animals have feelings and they go through pain and suffering perhaps in a more intensified manner compared to human. It is our duty to exercise compassion and care for them. Hence, it is very meritorious for us to include our pets and all sentient beings in our puja dedication. Thank you Cheng See for this beautiful sharing.

Cheng See, this is a very touching account of your anguish over your beloved dog having to go under the knife at her late age. However, out of Shugden’s great compassion and blessings, she had a smooth and successful surgery and the growth was not malignant! Your faith in Shugden and your love for your dog, not being able to see and bear her pain, won the day.

Your love for your dog made you see her as family and you sponsored a Dorje Shugden puja for her. How very sweet of you. You have that overwhelming love for all your dogs. In fact, there should be no difference in the way we view our pets and members of our family. All are family. All should be loved and care for as well. You have done that. Wonderful

.How caring Dorje Shugden is – to care for all of us and our loved ones.
