Tsongkhapa Meditation Centre or Centre de Méditation Tsongkapa is a Dharma centre in Canada dedicated to the preservation of the authentic Buddhadharma in general and the oral transmission lineages of the Gelug Tradition founded by the great master Je Tsongkhapa in particular. Founded by Venerable Zawa Tulku Rinpoche in August 2015 in the town of Sainte-Sophie, an hour away from Montreal, Tsongkhapa Meditation Centre was established to realise the deepest wishes of his Guru, Venerable Geshe Khenrab Gajam, to create a centre from which the compassionate Mahayana-Vajrayana Buddhist tradition instituted by the great Je Tsongkhapa could flourish.

Tsongkhapa Meditation Centre had the honour of being inaugurated by His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche, who led many eminent lamas including Rabten Rinpoche, Kalden Rinpoche and Geshe Tsultrim Tenzin in prayer to consecrate and bless the new centre and its land.

After the prayers, Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche gave a teaching on the Segyu tradition of ‘The Hundreds of Deities of the Land of Joy (Tushita Heaven)’, from a text composed by Tulku Chokyi Nyima. Attendees were fortunate to hear Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche recite the text as he granted an oral transmission of this practice, which he himself had received from one of the greatest masters of the recent past, His Eminence Kyabje Lati Rinpoche.

Tsongkapa Meditation Centre is so nicely set against the greens of the land. The clean and simple design shows of the altar and the Buddhas so beautifully. Venerable Zawa Tulku Rinpoche shows his dedication to his Guru, Venerable Geshe Khenrab Gajam by fulfilling his wish for a centre to spread Lama Tsongkapa’s precious teaching in Canada. Such blessings too to have so many eminent high Lamas, His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche, Rabten Rinpoche, Kalden Rinpoche and Geshe Tsultrim Tenzin in prayers to consecrate and bless the new centre and its land. The people in Montreal and its surroundings are indeed very blessed.

Congratulations to the opening of Tsongkhapa Meditation Centre near Montreal, Canada. It is heartwarming to see the faith and unbroken guru Samaya growing strong in Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche lineage. The propitiating of Dorje Shugden is part of the lineage and by not abandoning the practice, the students are fulfilling the commitments made once they received Dorje Shugden Sogtae.
