I am travelling to Lhasa in 10 days' time and am planning a 5 day itinerary in and around Lhasa. Please can you indicate key places of pilgrimage outside of the usual ones. For example, I've been trying to locate Chusang Hermitage near Lhasa but without success. Also, do you know of any Dorje Shugden gompas in Lhasa? Thank you so much,

Since my secondary school i have been taunted by this weakness of getting nervous
when i engage in conversation. It's so bad at times that it made me to avoid my social life
in total and giving up every good opportunity in my life. As i'm a devoted Hindu, I
have tried many pujas and prayers to eradicate this problems but i'm
still seeking for a solution. Recently I recieved a Dorje Shugden photo with a locket from a group of volunteers from Kechara foundation at a famous Hindu festival.
As i'm a Hindu, can i prayer to Dorje shugden for my problems and i would like to know
the right method of doing it. And i have also a photo of vajrayogini which i got it from a
a book and i became very attracted to the form of the goddess. Is it alright to worship
her in my altar room with other Hindu gods. Kindly advice me and thank you for the

      Dear Kannan,

Thank you for your question. I am sorry you have been facing this problem. The practice of Dorje Shugden can definitely help you in the matter, but it will depend on the effort you put into it yourself. As for if you can put Dorje Shugden and Vajrayogini on the same altar as Hindu gods, of course you can! If what we pray to is really divine, then there is no problem at all. In fact, from the side of the divine, it is not about which religion or which god you pray to, the divine is all the same. It is us humans that put labels on the divine.

How you can you proceed is to follow the prayer and mantra written on the items you got from Kechara during the festival. The prayers are authentic and will help tremendously on your spiritual path. They will also help you to make a connection with Dorje Shugden, who will assist you, as his sole motivation is compassion. I hope this helps. Thank you.

Hi there, I have read the testimonial - http://www.dorjeshugden.com/testimonials/blessed-by-shugden-marcus-lee/ and this is exactly what's happening to me now. I have open my shop for 5 years and till today, I have a lot of people telling me that they didn't know that there's a shop here until their neighbours or friends tell them about us. They practically said - We didn't know that there's a shop here or your shop is always CLOSED. We open 6 days a week and we have the open sign, the open tear drop flag, etc. We just found Dorje Shugden last year and have been praying his mantra om benza wiki bitana soha every single day. We also printed out his photo and place it on our altar at home and at the shop. May I ask, is it rude if we print another photo and place it at the door or windows at the front of our shop? Please advice. Thank you. Warmest regards, Geri

      Dear Geri,

Thank you for your question. Of course you can put a picture of Dorje Shugden at your shop door or windows. There is a common practice of hanging images of the enlightened deities above doors for protection, clearing of obstacles and promoting success. In addition to this, it is believed in Buddhism that when you see an image of an enlightened being, this plants the seeds of enlightenment within your mindstream. Therefore, if you display the image of Dorje Shugden you are not only helping yourself, but also all of those who see his holy image. Of course, the image should be placed in a respectful manner, and kept as clean as possible. I hope this helps. Thank you.

      Dear HHLIM,

Thank you for your question. What you have described is not normal. Dorje Shugden is the emanation of Manjushri, who is the Buddha of Wisdom. As a Buddha, he cannot affect people in negative ways. When we see a Buddha image or hear their prayers and mantras, we can only be affected in positive ways. This is because all Buddhas operate from the highest form of compassion. They only do what is the best for us and they can never harm us.

I think what is happening to your father is probably due to his state of mind. You should talk to him and explain to him who Dorje Shugden is, his benefits and that he is an emanation of Manjushri. That might help to ease his mind. Sometimes having an image of a deity can disturb some people's minds because they do not know who the deity is. This is especially the case if they are not familiar with the form of the deity. To them it may seem strange at first, but once they know the benefits of Dorje Shugden then their minds will calm down. You can explain to your father about the benefits of Dorje Shugden's practice. You can find a list of these benefits here: http://www.dorjeshugden.org/benefits/how-dorje-shugden-helps.

Since your father is an amputee, he may be suffering from mental stress at having lost his limbs. This is very common with people who have been amputated, even if not recent. If you father is open to the idea, you can ask him to chant Dorje Shugden's mantra, which will bring him a lot of peace. You can also move the image to another location of the house if your father does not like it where it is. I hope this helps. Thank you.

      Hello Ken,

It's nice to see you here again. As for your question, this would depend on what sort of Chenrezig initiation that you have received, as there are many lineages of practice. If you have received a practice that involves front generation (visualizing the deity in front of you) then you would not visualize yourself as Chenrezig during the invitational verses to Dorje Shugden. However, as you have the initiation, you can visualize Chenrezig on top of your head instead of Lama Tsongkhapa.

If you have received the practice in which you can self-generate (visualize yourself as the deity) then yes, you can visualise yourself as the deity and then visualize the lights from your heart. Usually, Dharma protector practice is done before the dissolution of the main deity sadhana, in this case Chenrezig. However, if you have received initiation you should check with your Lama, during which section of the sadhana you can insert Dharma protector practice. I hope this helps.

      Thank you.

    Hello,

Regarding the Invocation Prayer of Dorje Shugden, (http://www.dorjeshugden.org/practice/invocation-prayer-of-dorje-shugden), there is a visualization of "rays of light from my heart, invite from the natural sphere.." Is there any initiation that is required to visualize this light when reciting the invocation, or can one visualize this light from the heart without initiation? If initiation is required is there an alternative way to visualize this?

    Best wishes,

      Dear Ken,

Thank you for your interesting question! You are indeed right about needing initiation to engage in the corresponding visualization of lights emanating from one's heart to invite Dorje Shugden. This can be any deity initiation in which you are given permission to generate oneself as the meditational deity. In the case of Dharma protector practices, one engages in these meditational deity practices before one engages in Dharma protector practices. For those without initiation, we engage in the Guru Yoga of Lama Tsongkhapa.

For those of us without initiation, when we recite the invitational verses, we can visualise Lama Tsongkhapa sitting on top of our heads. His size is similar to the size of our thumb. One should concentrate on visualizing Lama Tsongkhapa sitting on top of our head. When we recite the line that says "rays of light from my heart, invite from the natural sphere..” we imagine that lights shine out from Lama Tsongkhapa's heart, not ours, to invite Dorje Shugden. I hope this helps. Thank you.

Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, I am not in contact with any temples or centres in Australia that practice Dorje Shugden. However, you can search online for temples/centres that belong to the New Kadampa Tradition in Australia. I am aware that they have a few centres there. They do practice Dorje Shugden very strongly. Their spiritual founder is Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, a very learned and esteemed master. You can read more about Geshe Kelsang Gyatso here: http://www.dorjeshugden.org/lamas/geshe-kelsang-gyatso. I hope this helps. Thank you.
