As an emanation of Hayagriva, Kache Marpo is himself an enlightened Dharma Protector. However, to show us the perfect example of a student serving the teacher, Kache Marpo has chosen to serve Dorje Shugden as his chief minister.

This praise to Kache Marpo is extracted from a ritual composed by the Great Fifth Dalai Lama (5DL, Volume Da folios 147r-148r), who composed it at the request of Kache Marpo himself so that practitioners may connect with him to receive swift assistance.

Praise to Yaksha Khache Marpo, the Doctrine’s Watchman

By the Great 5th Dalai Lama

Riding on a saddled precious horse
Having the power of the wind,
Traversing the universe in an instant,
Praise to Yaksha Kache Marpo, the doctrine’s watchman.

Furious mighty being biting the lower lip,
Three eyes blazing the sun and moon watching enemies,
Emanating messengers taking the life of false guides,
Praise to the liberator of the ten enemies.

Wearing leather armour, banners, coloured garb and
Leather helmet with a victory banner, treasury of nine good signs,
Tying enemies with a lasso, piercing their hearts with a lance,
Praise to you and your retinue.

A short but concise praise to Kache Marpo by none other than the 5th Dalai Lama. Kache Marpo who is an enlightened being who existed since the time of Guru Rinpoche took the task to help grow Dharma when he was installed as the protector of Samye Monastery. He is the emanation of Hayagriva, which is the wrathful form of Avalokiteshvara (Chenrezig), hence he is an enlightened Dharmapala.

Today, Kache Marpo is one of Dorje Shugden’s main attendants ,who assists Dorje Shugden in carrying out his Dharma instructions and activities, and help us to overcome our inner and outer obstacles that hinder our spiritual practice. Kache Marpo as an enlightened Dharma Protector, he has his own set of pujas, offerings and rituals which can be used to propitiate him and invoke his blessings.

Thank you for this prayer to Karche Marpo. Though Khache Marpo has his own prayer and was practiced separately, he is oft times invoke in Dorje Shugden’s practice as he took an oath to be one of Dorje Shugden’s ministers. He is practiced in the Nyingma tradition as Tsiu Marpo.
Khache Marpo is an emanation of Hayagriva whose true nature is the wrathful form of Avalokiteshvara. “Thus Kache Marpo is an enlightened Dharma Protector and as such, has his own set of pujas, offerings and rituals which can be used to propitiate him and invoke his blessings.”

This prayer was composed by the 5th Dalai Lama himself, who built a chapel, Trode Khangsar in honour of Dorje Shugden on the grounds where Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was cremated after his murder. Not only that, he wrote a prayer to Dorje Shugden too.

Kache Marpo is the main attendant to Dorje Shugde, just like the Prime Minister. He is assisting Dorje Shugden in various dharma activities and also helps us in clearing the inner and outer obstacles to our spiritual practice. It is said that not only Gelugs relied upon Kache Marpo but also Sakyas. They propitiated Kache Marpo in the form of Tsiu Marpo.

Thank you for sharing this precious prayers composed by the Great Fifth Dalai Lama .

Kache Marpo is an emanation of Hayagriva, which is also Chenrezig, a fully accomplished enlightened being. Kache Marpo helps to increase the growth of Dharma in the country of Tibet and the surrounding areas. He is a very ancient Buddhist deity originating from the time of Guru Rinpoche. Guru Rinpoche installed Kache Marpo as one of the Dharma Protectors in Samye Monastery.

Kache Marpo has a set of his own practice. He is also the chief minister of Dorje Shugden. Therefore we don’t have to do Kache Marpo practise seperately because it includes in Dorje Shugden’s practise. Kache Marpo submit himself to Dorje Shugden’s way to spread the dharma.
