The iconography of an enlightened being is a roadmap to Enlightenment, communicating not only the function of the deity but also serves to invoke a certain awareness in the minds of practitioners. Therefore, every detail of a deity’s form, from their stance and posture to the implements they carry, their mounts, and their mudras are in fact teachings in themselves.

Dorje Shugden’s iconography is no different and illustrates well the deity’s enlightened nature and how he helps practitioners overcome their outer, inner and secret obstacles.

Dorje Shugden is an emanation of Manjushri and therefore when we study his iconography is actually practising the teaching of enlightenment Buddha.
When we learn and understand the iconography of DorjeShugden, pray and practice faithfully, all things around will increase and getting better.

To understand the iconography of Protector Dorje Shugden is to facilitate our visualisation when we say our daily prayers to our Protector.

From my personal experience, understanding the iconography of Dorje Shugden propels and enhances my trust and faith in Him.

During my times of dire need for protection and calming of my mind in face of adversity, visualising Dorje Shugden in front of me had always help to balance my fear through trust of assistance forthcoming.
